Why requests are slow today
In most organisations, asking is cheap and scoping is expensive. A request takes minutes to write and weeks to size. So requests queue, the answers age while they wait, and the business routes around IT to get things done. None of this is anyone's fault. It is what happens when every estimate has to be built by hand. That is the half of the problem the front door removes.
How the estimate is built
When a request arrives, the platform breaks it into the pieces of work it would actually take. It estimates each piece by role, calibrated against similar work your teams have already delivered. It can price the same work under different ways of delivering it, so the trade-off is visible before anyone commits.
The calibration comes from MemoryMesh, the compounding product. It remembers what the platform has learned about how your organisation delivers: your codebase, your patterns, and what past work actually took. That record grows with every piece of work that goes through the door, so each estimate starts further ahead than the last.
Your IT team stays in charge of the numbers. They can open any estimate, adjust it and send it on. The adjustments feed back: a correction made this month shapes what Brain-Stem produces next month.
What comes back
A scoped piece of work: the breakdown, the effort by role, and a price. The reasoning comes with it, so it reads like something a person scoped: what the work touches, what it depends on, and what was assumed. The business can approve it, challenge it or decline it the same day.
